There is no denial that remaining Positive in the face of adversity is very difficult.
As the sentence above sums itself up. It is difficult but not impossible; it is easier said than done.
Practising positive thinking on a regular basis over a period of time makes it possible where you will find everything in your life moving in the right direction.
Gratitude
You can develop positive thinking by practising gratitude.
Life is a glass and it is upon the owner of the glass to see it empty or full.
When a Glass is visibly empty a normal person will see it empty, a person thinking positively will think it full of air.
It will seem very funny but yes that is how it is. You need to come out of your comfort zone to start thinking positively.
When you start practising gratitude what you are doing is moving from have not’s to do have’s. I am assuming that you stay in India have a Roof on your head , you are able to get 2 square meals a day, and If you have a family of your own then your kids are going to school . There are 2 aspects to this again a positive thinking person will find positivity and say that I am better then a majority of my fellow citizens as I have all these which most of my brethrens do not have. A negative thinking person will be discussing what he does not have.
By regular practise of gratitude what you do is you start appreciating what all do you have instead of thinking what you do not have.
It increases positive emotions like joy, optimism, happiness, alertness etc.
Your brain has space constrain and it has a space defined for emotions by practising gratitude you fill it up with positive emotions banishing the negative ones.
The few best steps of practising gratitude are:
- Notice the beauty of the nature everyday
- Show respect to others
- Write a gratitude journal
- Encourage others to see the positive sides.
We should practise gratitude and cultivate the trait if possible in others so that the society, the nation can become a lot better place to stay.
Positive Vocabulary
Positive vocabulary also plays a very important role in developing a positive attitude. As discussed sub-conscious mind is programmed unintentionally. Whatever we hear and say is stored in the sub conscious mind and then it acts on the basis of the information it stores.
If you are asked how are you feeling today your answers could be any of the following
- Pulling on
- Great
- Flowing with the flow
- On top of the world
The two highlighted answers show the impact of positive vocabulary. Under normal circumstances when your answer is on top of the world you are giving very positive vibes and the same is being stored in your subconscious mind.
Stay away from Distractions
Distractions should be kept at bay under every circumstance under your control.
Mobiles and usage of social media apps cause a lot of distractions in every sphere of life, whether it is professional, relations, health etc stay away from them until and unless it is absolute necessity for you to hook on.
TV also is one of the important distracter spending hours altogether in a day does no value addition to you except possibly giving you some material for useless gossips. Most of the news channel whether national or regional are a store house of feeding all negative information to you.
Some channels feed you negative news to the extent that you start feeling whether you are going to stay alive the next morning or not. You can be rest assured of one thing that if you are not addicted to idiot box there is a very high possibility that you will wake up early morning the next day.
For last couple of years I have stopped taking newspaper which was earlier my regular morning routine to read newspaper for one hour along with a hot cup of tea. After quitting it I enjoy my morning tea in a much better way with my family. Newspapers to like the idiot box feed you only with negative information.
Exercise and follow a morning routine.
Your morning routine should be nothing less than a ritual. You should be practising it every day. An ideal morning routine should look something like:
- Making your bed ready
- Exercise for 20 Minutes
- Gratitude Journaling
- Meditation
- Reviewing your goals for the day
- Planning your day.
This should generally not take you more than 45 minutes to one hour.
While we have had a reasonable information of how we can develop positive attitude it is equally important to understand why having a positive attitude is important.
Our Mind is a tower which emits signals to the universe and the universe returns the same signals with equal or more force.
Now it is up to you what kind of signals you want to attract to yourself. If you want to lead a life prosperity and success you have to emit similar signals.
There are numerous books in the market today which help you in becoming rich and few of them have been authored almost a century earlier and are still relevant today.
There are some universal laws one of the foremost of them is law of attraction.
Remember there are no free lunches in the universe so if you want to have an income you need to give something of a corresponding value in return of the same.
Develop a positive attitude if you really want to succeed in your life and remember that success is not always measured in terms of your bank balance.
