Fear of failure is one of the key fear’s which holds us back. Remember even the top performers in academics opt for a job because of fear of failure.
Sports, innovation, business are your passions you are not going to be successful if you fear failure.
Thomas Edison would not have made so many innovations which changed our life if he would have feared failure. At the beginning of the 20th century the Laboratory where Thomas Edison used to do his experiments was a simple thatched roof premises and he used to take his notes manually as there were no computers at that time. The laboratory was gutted in fire and everything was reduced to ashes. He asked his 24 year old son “Go and call your mother and her friends they will never ever in their life time see a fire of such magnitude.” When his son protested he said “son it’s OK , we have got rid of lot of rubbish which otherwise would have taken too much of time to clear the mess.”
This attitude of Edison is what we need to be successful in our life. The Attitude of getting up every time we are put down.
We should be ever ready to get up every time life put’s us down.
While most of us fear failure. The performer’s see it as a way of knowing how it cannot be achieved.
If Sachin Tendulkar would have ever feared getting out on Duck would we have seen a Cricket legend in our life time.
It is not that performer’s are stoic’s and do not have emotions. They do have emotions like any individual but they have much better control over emotions then an average human being.
Moving forward the inclination we all built up to get a Job is due to the fact that from our childhood we have been programmed to believe that having a job which pay’s a good salary is success.
But I differ from the same.
In my view it is the fear of failure and the jacket of protection which our near and dear one’s put around us. That hold’s us back.
To do great things we need to learn to endure tragedy and setback, we need to love what we are doing and what it entails good or bad. We need to learn to find joy in everything that happens.
Remember when failure strikes you have no option but to accept it and understand that you have no option of changing the past. The only option you have left is to accept it and move forward.
If you desire to set yourself up to achieve new heights you need to set your mind to a level where emotions and tragedy do not bring you down. Overcome the fear of failure and be ready to face it.
